MEN'S CONFERENCE

Building Men of Character to Champion Gender Equality and Stress Management

As part of the global 16 days of activism against gender-based violence (GBV) campaign, a men’s conference was held on the 8th of December 2025 at multipurpose Youth Center. The conference aimed to strengthen involvement of men and boys in preventing and responding to GBV, promoting positive masculinity, and fostering peaceful and supportive family structures. The event was attended by 85 participants i.e., community leaders, service providers, male youth, civil society organizations and government representative.

Objectives of the conference

1. To increase awareness among men and boys about the causes, forms, and impacts of GBV

   
   

2. To promote positive male engagement in GBV prevention and community transformation

   
   

3. To equip men with knowledge on family planning, mental health, and stress management

   
   

4. To provide a platform for men to share experiences and commit to change

Conclusion

The men’s conference successfully provided a platform for meaningful engagement and reflection among men and the youth. The presentations and discussions empowered participants with knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to ending GBV and building harmonious families. The events successful closure by the RDC reaffirmed the importance of collective action in sustaining the gains of the 16 Days of Activism.
